Grand Junction Bouldering

Just 10 Min from Downtown Grand Junction, near the Colorado National Monument, lie two of the region’s premier bouldering areas. Located  in a city park with great views, short  approaches, relatively solid rock and a world class mountain biking/hiking trail system across the street. This area is perfect for the person looking for a day of climbing or an after work training session. Boasting 251 boulder problems ranging from VB to V10 and 24 rope routes ranging from 5.4 to 5.11 there is something for everyone. This book also offers a geologic review written by local geologist Michael Feil and a brief history on the area. Written by one of the regions top climbing advocates.

The Western Colorado Climbers’ Coalition is a 501(c)3 non profit advocating to keep Western Colorado crags open, clean and safe.

Unaweep Canyon

Coming Soon Eventually

We are currently in the process of writing a guidebook to Unaweep Canyon including the roped climbing from Nine Miles Hill through Gateway. This is a long process that we expect to take 3-4 year to complete (starting in fall 2021). We are not including any of the bouldering as that needs to be a book in and of itself however we do plan to reference popular bouldering areas in the hope it will help people navigate. As we work on the book we will try and release information that we feel shouldn’t wait for the book to come out and as such we have created a couple of maps to help people navigate the private property that lines our crags. We have created this page to share that information. We look forward to working on this project and hope to get it out to the public as quick as possible but also want to take the amount of time needed to produce a quality book.
