Takeout Beach is the main takeout for all of the guide services and most private boaters. It gets crowded but flows well enough that a little patience is all that is needed. The guide services are usually really fast taking out and getting off the ramp here so if a train of rafts passes you just after the Salt Wash Rapid don’t fret, they’ll likely be gone before you get there.

Efficiency is key here as well as following the signs, go clockwise down to the ramp. Be kind to other boaters and don’t take up the ramp any longer than needed. Stay in the eddy above or below till your trailer is down the ramp. Wait your turn, don’t de-rig more than necessary. Don’t strap your entire rig down on the ramp, load your boat and gear and drive up to the top of the hill to get ready to roll down the hwy. Good advice at most any boat ramp! Kayaks, SUPs and other small craft can takeout at the Beach Area if they don’t want to wait or take up room on the ramp but it would be about 475ft to the closest your car can get, legally.

There is a rock climbing area across the road from the parking area so if you’re into a multisport day, have at it. Climbing season is more in the winter and boating in the summer but during the skirt seasons there could be conflict with the parking lot over filling. Try to remember that they are just out to enjoy this beautiful area same as you.
