This is one rough takeout at higher flows. There is almost no eddy, and sometimes there is no eddy at all. I’ve been on trips where we were grabbing weeds and grass to try and hold on to the shore while popping our skirts and getting out. One time my partner’s boat slipped away from him as he was getting out and his boat got wrapped around the bridge abutment from I 70 just before Plateau dumps into the Colorado. It took a few hours to get the boat unpinned, not a good way to end an otherwise really fun day.

I’m not trying to scare people away from doing the last half mile because it is “oh so much fun” but I started my description for this creek describing it as a beginner run and it is, but make sure you don’t attempt the last half mile till you’re more intermediate.

The one star rating for the “Run” is if you were to continue from here. Plateau Creek drains into the Colorado River and one could continue to Palisade Rim about 6 miles downstream.
