Ida Gulch is the drainage that comes down from the valley between Castleton Tower and Parriot Mesa. The rapid is known as Rocky Rapid and the launch is known by both names. The official boat ramp puts you on, or takes you off, the river below Rocky Rapid in a little side channel on river left, at high water it may be impossible to get over in time to take out here. There is an option to access the river above the rapid that isn’t really a ramp but one could carry a raft up or down from here relatively easily, it’s better for smaller craft.
