This is not really an access point for people running stretches of the river. The parking area is very small and it was intended to be used by people that are here to surf the wave. We don’t recommend that you plan on using this area to put on or take off the river, especially on weekends or holidays, but know that it is here incase of emergency.

As a kayak instructor this is an amazing tool. When I’m running students down at lower flows there is a great eddy in the middle of the river that we can access while running the chute. We practice ferries back and forth across the chute and the instructors can drop into the wave and show the students something they can look forward too in the future. Props to the City of Glenwood for creating such a great feature.
